Manager - IT Operations

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT Department whilst also leading and managing various IT projects across the organization.

Main Functions: 

  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and IT equipment.
  • Monitor system performance, up-time, and availability, and implement measures to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, budget management, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, and take proactive measures to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the IT team.
  • Work with Senior Management to evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to support IT operations and project delivery.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management and key stakeholders to align IT initiatives and projects with organizational goals, objectives, and priorities.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities to assess technology needs, evaluate emerging trends and technologies, and recommend IT solutions to support business growth and innovation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related disciplines.
  • Master’s Degree would be considered an asset
  • Proven three (3) years of experience in IT Operations, as well as demonstrated experience in leading and managing IT projects with a strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • CAPM, PMP or similar Certifications
  • CompTIA Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Certification
  • Sound understanding of IT governance, risk management, compliance and operational best practices
  • Flexibility to be on-call 24/7 during critical/emergency support requests
